Puerto Escondido
Puerto Escondido is a town located on the Pacific Coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. There is a large influx of tourists, most of them surfers or body boarders. The town has a population of about 50.000 inhabitants (Census 2006).
Thanks to its southern location, Puerto Escondido has a tropical climate even in the winter months and water temperature averages 25 degrees Celsius.
How to get to Puerto Escondido
From Mexico City: by plane airline Aeromar or Aerobus(50 mins.) or by bus (appx. 12 hours) with the company Estrella Blanca/Futura (from Taxquena Sur terminal)
From Huatulco: by bus (appx. 2 hours)
How to find us
We are located at the end of Zicatela Beach, a part called “LA PUNTA”, right next to an ecological reserve. The beach is a 50m walk, the marvelous point break only 200m from our house. The famous Mexican “Pipeline” beach break is located 2km away.
From the airport: by taxi (20 mins.)
From the bus station: by taxi (15 mins.)
From the town center you can also take a colectivo all the way to La Punta: watch for signs that say “Zicatela”.
